Ajax Health Hires Carla Jung, Former VP of Sales at Medtronic, to Expand Platform Commercialization Capabilities

MENLO PARK, Calif., October 1, 2024 – Ajax Health, a medical device-focused investment firm, announced today the hiring of industry veteran Carla Jung. Jung brings 24 years of medtech experience at two of the industry’s top companies, Boston Scientific and, most recently, Medtronic.

Ajax Health, backed by KKR, partners with leading medtech firms to establish dedicated platforms focused on aggregating and developing medical device assets within a specific therapeutic area of interest into high-growth portfolios. Ajax is now scaling this model after validating it with cardiovascular company Cordis and expanding it into a joint venture with Hologic to create a new lung cancer division. Jung’s extensive commercial expertise will create value across Ajax’s growing portfolio of platforms.

“Carla is a respected and dynamic leader with a strong track record of successful commercial launches of technologies across various sectors,” said Ajax CEO Duke Rohlen. “She enhances our ability to drive commercial traction, growth, and scale for our platforms.”

“Duke and the Ajax team are transforming medtech, and I’m excited to contribute to their efforts,” said Jung. “They have developed an agile and efficient approach for finding and developing best-in-class technologies to address unmet needs. Their process navigates all the hurdles to get these impactful products into physicians’ hands, ultimately improving patient outcomes.”

Jung spent the past thirteen years at Medtronic, where she rose from District Manager, Cardiac Surgery to Vice President, Coronary and Renal Denervation. During that time, she led the successful launch of more than ten products across the cardiovascular portfolio. Prior to that, she spent eleven years in sales at Boston Scientific. She began her career in the women’s health division at Eli Lilly. She received an MBA from Columbia University and a BA from Villanova University.
